A little something to remember...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says, "I will try again tomorrow."

Absence

Please accept my deepest apologies for my absence. I'm in the process of putting up my first Broadway show, so I've not had much spare time in the past few weeks to blog. The show opens Sunday nights, and I'm hoping things calm down a bit then.

An equation for life...

Last night I saw a lecture by Marlee Matlin live in my home town. It
was hosted by Evansville's Celebration of Diversity. Marlee gave us
an equation for life, and I want to share it with you!

Courage + Dreams = Success

Humbled and Inspired

Today is the National Equality March on Washington...many LGBT folks are taking to the streets to raise awareness for Equality for EVERYONE in these United States. I am stuck in Florida doing my last two shows, wishing I could be there to march in solidarity.

I watched Obama's speech to the HRC last night on CSPAN. He's an amazing man who I truly believe will make changes for us. As with everything he does, he has to finesse his way through the Republican bigotry to prevail victorious as a champion of our cause. Too many people expected life to change immediately after he took office and are crying 'too little, too late'. To these people I ask, could you have done any better or made changes faster? It's obvious how difficult it is to get laws changed, and it's even harder to change deep set prejudices and beliefs. So...it's going to take some time....but I believe that he is on our side.

I am humbled and inspired by the Broadway community, once again stepping up to make a difference. 25 buses were sponsored by various Broadway performers, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and other various groups, to take people to the march in DC today....free of
charge. The Broadway community stepped up early in the fight against AIDS and BCEFA formed from these efforts. Today Broadway Impact is stepping up in the fight for equality. Please check out www.broadwayimpact.com to learn more and to offer your support in these very important times.

Today we put one step in front of the other to change hearts, to change minds, to change our country, and to change our world!

Some people...

Here are a few observations from my two weeks in Florida:

A. Drivers (on the whole) here could use about 6 weeks in intensive
driving lessons.
B. No matter what you do, the retired folk that live here still think
they're entitled to everything.
C. Mean people suck.
D. I'm ready to go home.
