A little something to remember...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says,
"I will try again tomorrow."

Well....I'm in Chicago performing in the Marriott Lincolnshire's production of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. I'm having a great time. The cast is terrific on stage and off. Check out the new pics.

That's Russian for 'hello'. A year ago today, I was aboard a Delta flight headed for Moscow to do '42nd Street'. I can't believe a year has passed since I left on this life-changing journey. Lots of things have changed since then, but I'll never forget the 4 months I spent in Russia.

We are family....

My Mom and Stepdad came to visit this week. We had such a good time here in Fort Atkinson. Can't believe I'll be back home in less than a month. Time flies when you're having fun.

IT'S OUT!!!!

The stent is out of my body and in a little jar on my desk. Exciting. No more pain, and I hope it stays that way.

I just got an email from my dear friend Baayork Lee (Broadway's original Connie in A CHORUS LINE). It always brings a smile to my face when I see a letter from her in my inbox.

Now I'm gonna go take a nap. These drugs are CRAZY!!!!!

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow...

Tomorrow I get my stent removed, and I should be well on my way to getting back to normal.

Today the cast went swimming for Shanna Vanderwerker's birthday. What a good time. It was freezing when you got out of the pool, but it was still fun. After that, we went to the Main Street cast house for an ice cream social. We stuffed ourselves on just about any and every kind of ice cream imaginable.

Off to bed.....g'nite.

Went to the urologist yesterday. They are taking my stent out tomorrow. Apparently they think I've passed most of the pieces of my stone.

Hooked on 'Boy Meets Boy' on Bravo. Last night I found myself trying to figure out which guy was straight, but I couldn't. I don't trust any of them anymore. I feel sorry for James.

pity party

Finished my shows for the week. My body is sore and tired. This kidney stone has really taken a lot out of me. I'm ready to pass all the pieces, get this stint out, and get on with my life. I'm tired of drinking 3 liters of water per show. Tired of lying upside down for an hour twice a day. Tired of not being able to go out because I have to pee every ten minutes. Ugh.

I'm currently in between shows. Apparently the inversion therapy is working....I've passed 4 pieces of the stone since this morning. I just finished another session of lying upside down for an hour. Good times.

inversion therapy

What a novel idea. So....when I left the hospital after my lithotripsy, the nurse gave me this sheet of therapy I have to do for my kidney. It involves drinking a ton of water and lying face down upside down on an ironing board at a 45 degree angle for an hour twice a day. It's supposed to keep the particles of the stone from settling and reforming in the kidney. Can I tell you how hard it is to lie still on a rickety ironing board without falling off? Ugh. And I have to do this twice a day for a week?!?!?!? Jeepers.

back in the show!!!

Today I went back into the show. I can't believe I only missed 5 shows while dealing with this crazy kidney stone. The show was abdomen was very sore, but I made it through alright.
I have passed four pieces of my pesky kidney stone. They're all smaller than grains of salt, so I assume the lithotripsy worked. I have to save the pieces for my doctor.

My abdomen is still very sore from the shock of the procedure. I assume it's just muscle soreness that will go away in a couple of days.

I missed both shows yesterday, but I'm going back on as Daniel today. The cast here has been quite supportive.

I received a call from Terry James at the Marriot Lincolnshire yesterday. He offered me ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (ensemble and understudy Tommy Keelor). I'm thrilled. I'll be living at the Marriott Lincolnshire resort...which is AMAZING. I also get to work with Marc Robin....a wonderful director based in Chicago.

Rehearsals begin November 17.
Opening Night is December 4.
We close February 15.
