A little something to remember...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says,
"I will try again tomorrow."

HNT #42

Here's a special HNT for this week. Three shots from 3 moments of 'Naked Boys Singing' featuring me. I don't know why the flashes kept reflecting off my nether regions, but alas....that's what happened.

Enjoy! Happy HNT!

Back in 2001, I spent time in Moscow doing a show. My friend Clark and I kept seeing this ad in magazines, and it became our inside joke. We figured out that we could do that pose anywhere leaning against nearly anything and it would always make us collapse in a heap of laughter. We nicknamed the sexy lady Polianka. Pol as in the pole she has between her cheeks. Ianka to make it sound Russian since we were in Moscow. Seven years later, it still brings a smile to my face, so I thought I'd share it with you.

I have such a man-crush on this guy...James Marsden. I've had this crush since I first saw him in X-Men. Total dreamboat!! And then I get my GQ magazine, and he's in it! It's been a big year for him which makes me really happy since I can see lots of him on the big screen, on tv, in the newspapers and magazines, etc.

I just love this picture of him. It's such a fun image that shows his sexy geek side. I have a thing for hot dorks, and he's got the hot dork thing down to a t in this shot.

Ok...time for a quick rant about a pet peeve of mine. New York drivers and their love for honking horns. First of are the one who chose to drive in the city. There's plenty of options for getting around without the use of your stupid, road clogging, pollution emitting vehicles. So, why should I have to listen to you lay on the horn repeatedly when you're stuck in traffic. Do you honestly think that by taking all your frustrations out on the horn in your car that you will actually make the traffic jam go away or make anyone in front of you drive faster?

Horns should be removed from every single car that drives in Manhattan.

Heath Ledger

The New York Times just announced that Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment at 3:31pm this afternoon. Another life cut too short. Rest in peace, Heath.

this weekend was all about change. my roommate and i went to target to buy new stuff for our bathroom. we've lived in this apartment for two years, so we've been itching to change things around. i bought a drill. i find it funny that the gay boy in the apartment owns all the tools. maybe i'm not really gay....

''ll be happy to know, i'm no longer gay. i own tools.'

ok...maybe not. but....we put up a new cabinet, and 3 cube shelves yesterday. it looks amazing! today, i rearranged furniture in our dining room. that is our problem room. we just can't seem to make it work.

i'm also still trying to ready my bedroom for my new, as of yet unpurchased, bed. i need to do a massive purge. not the bulimic kind....but a stuff purge. stuff. as in, i have too much of it.

audition tomorrow....gotta get to bed.

Christmas in January

So...after spending 2 months in Toronto away from family and friends for the holidays, my Christmas present arrived yesterday. Feast your eyes on my new TV.

It's beautiful! I finally got it all set up in 2 hours yesterday. It seems that the older I get, the less I understand cables and technology. Am I turning into my parents?

I've spent the past few days since being back in NYC to re-organize my life. Slowly, but surely, I'm getting there. Went through a ton of mail and sorted bills, bank statements, credit card statements. Going to rearrange my room, so my new bed will fit in the space. Then I have to order the new bed. I'm really excited to get rid of my loft bed and get back to sleeping closer to the ground.

I'm back. Arrived via train last night! Soooo nice to sleep in my own bed again!

HNT #39 Goodbye Canada

In honor of my exodus from Canada, I decided I'd use the Maple Leaf in my HNT this week. My week of experiencing Toronto as a tourist has rekindled my feelings about the city. I've had a good time here. I hope I can come back and experience the city in the summer.

Niagara Falls Photos

Today, I boarded a tour bus at 9am to begin my journey to Niagara Falls. It was a beautiful, sunny day...a little cold, but clear nonetheless. After picking everyone up in Toronto we made our way to Niagara. We stopped for a wine tasting at a winery in Niagara on the Lake where we were able to sample Ice Wine. Good stuff if you like a sweet dessert wine. We then made our way to the Falls. Beautiful. Stunning. Breathtaking. I went up to the top of the Skylon Tower where the first picture was taken from. Then we walked along the falls, before heading down behind the falls. The sheer power of nature is incredible there. I'm so glad I decided to take a day and go visit this place. I nearly had free-run of the place since it's the off season. It was a perfect day!

Toronto as a Tourist-Day 3

Yesterday didn't really count as a touristy day. I modeled for a photographer here in Torono...that took all day, so I didn't really have time to explore much. I did a quick load of laundry last night, got some pizza and went to bed early so I'd be fresh for my trip to Niagara today. Really excited to see the falls! I'm taking my camera, so expect to see some photos soon.

The ROM Photos

I personally enjoyed the faucet/drinking spout option in the men's room.

Toronto as a Tourist-Day 2

Today, my friend Lee and I spent the day at the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum). We conquered the museum....saw (or, at least walked by) EVERYTHING! I'm exhausted. My brain is tired from focusing on all the exhibits, and my feet are sore/tired from walking all day. I took a lot of photos that I'll post soon. I can't bring myself to look thru them at the moment.

Toronto as a Tourist-Day 1

I'm making the effort to explore Toronto as a tourist now that I'm on 'vacation'. Today I went to the Distillery District. It's an old distillery that has been re-imagined as a space for art galleries, cafes, shops, and performance space. A lot of the movie 'Chicago' was filmed there as well. Anyhoo...I took my camera along hoping to find some nice shots, and I wound up taking a small series of photos of the windows and doors in this compound. I love the juxtaposition of old and new brick and paint in these shots. Let me know what you think.

Broadway Babies Say Goodnight

It's that time of year....the time to put "White Christmas" to bed. Considering there's only 6 weeks to Valentine's Day and we're still running a Christmas show, I think it's time. It's been a great run, but I think we're all ready to move on to our next venture. I'm spending a few days here in Toronto as kind of a forced relaxation period....if I go back to the City, I know I won't I bought my ticket back a week later than everyone else. It will also give me time to see a few things in Toronto that I haven't been able to enjoy. Things on the list include the Distillery District and the CN Tower. If you have any other suggestions, leave me a comment and tell me what I should do.

Resolute Yourself

Last year, I made the following New Year's Resolutions. Let's see how I did.

1. Keep NOT smoking. Did this. I celebrated 5 years without a cigarette on November 9, 2007!!!
2. Do something artistic everyday. I generally tried, and possibly succeeded, but I doubt I did something artistic every day of last year.
3. Read the Bible. I started, fell behind, and stopped all together.
4. Be nicer to people. I tried. Some people might say I'm succeeding, while other's might not.

Now for my 2008 Resolutions:

1. Keep NOT smoking. This will always be a resolution for me.

2. Do something artistic/creative everyday. This is a good one for me. I need to exercise my creativity in a bigger and better way.

3. Be nicer to people. This includes strangers.

4. Go to the gym on a regular basis. I pay lots of money to go to the gym, and sometimes I just lose the motivation.

5. Get back to yoga. Yoga helps my inner strength and flexibility. As a dancer that's a great thing.

6. Book a Broadway show. In March, I will have been in NYC for 7 years. It's about time this happened.

7. Find a 'day job' that I can do on the side and make money.
I have lots of ideas of things I can do, but I need to just get over my fear and do them.

That's what I've got so far. I hope you have a wonderful start to 2008!

Man of the Day 1/1/08

I was chosen RealJock's man of the day for the 1st day of 2008! What a nice surprise! Here's the screen-grab for posterity.
