A little something to remember...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says,
"I will try again tomorrow."

Gold Baby

Beautiful moment!!!

I've been in a funk lately. The job I'm at has stressed me out a great deal. There's a guy I'm totally infatuated with, but can't seem to do anything about. The weather is cold. And, for some reason, I can't seem to make myself happy these days. I'm not depressed, just blue. I don't like feeling this way. Hopefully when I leave here, I'll be in much better spirits.

This morning...

I set my alarm and woke up at 4am, got dressed, stepped outside and waited. I'm living an hour south of Cape Canaveral, and at 4:14am, Endeavour was scheduled for the last night launch of the space shuttle fleet before they are retired in 2011. At 4:14, the sky to the north became a brilliant orange color and soon after I saw what looked like a bright comet hurling skyward. I saw the booster detach and begin it's descent to earth. It was over in less than 10 minutes, but for me it felt like the beginning to the end of an era. I was in 3rd grade when me and most every other school kid in America were tuned in to the television watching as the Challenger took of and then exploded. The shuttle program is nearly as old as I am, so it's with a bit of melancholy that I watch the program being retired.

And not the roof kind. The kind that feel like hot stabbing needles lodged into your dermis causing constant pain.

I've got them. A large patch on my left hip and a smaller patch on my left upper butt cheek. I started taking mega doses of Acyclovir. 800mg 5 times a day.

They use that same dose of the same medicine to treat genital herpes. I feel gross.
